I was commissioned to do this a while ago. Someone just wanted a basic werewolf anatomy drawing for their RP character/race. I like drawing werewoofy things so I said sure.

For the following reasons, yeah.
Reason #1) This is a commission for someone so the person who paid for the piece might be all happy giddy over it when you come along saying how you would have done it (implying better). That's just plain rude.
Reason #2) The artist put it up saying they like drawing werewoofy things and you decide to give an unsolicited critique. More people should stop to think about whether critique is truly wanted by the artist if they don't ask for it. Some folks are sensitive. Didn't your mother/father/etc teach you "if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all?" Would you like someone blindly waltzing into your gallery and telling you what to do?
Granted, you said you like the piece and that does mean you have some thoughtfulness, but I still feel there's so many folks that say things without thinking that it just hurts everyone with either lack of consideration or overwhelming disrespect.
Maybe I'm being oversensitive because I know this person. Then again, maybe it's because I rarely see this style from her because of this exact kind of behavior. Then again, maybe I'm just tired of seeing this behavior either perpetuated or applauded by people as if it's acceptable. It's not about being blind sheep and saying you love everything ever made. It's about a modicum of respect for your fellow human beings who share a gift openly.
Now that I've said all this to you, I apologize for calling you a dick. Ok, I'm done now.

Point out where I said I could do it better.
...
Yeah. Thought so.
I don't claim to know the artist and I don't care. If I have something to say that isn't inflamatory about a piece, I'm damn well going put in a comment. If they take offense, THEY can tell me and I won't do so again. You are not Khyot's personal defense force. If she or ANY artist takes issue with anything I say, then they will speak up.
Oh also,
if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all?
if you don't have something nice to say
if you don't have
if you
you
and
"but I still feel there's so many folks that say things without thinking that it just hurts everyone with either lack of consideration or overwhelming disrespect."
Really? I've noticed this too.

Hi T! I'm sorry his comment upset you. I appreciate you being concerned with my feelings, but I'm pretty good at being laid back about my art. People are more than welcome to share their opinions about what I draw. If I couldn't handle that, I wouldn't publicly post my stuff.

Yeah, I just don't like lashing out for no reason. I look back at my comment and say "wow". My back is a bit better, but still quite tweaked today. I've been trying codeine, soma, and white russians to help it out. That has worked, but I've missed a day of work and obviously been somewhat loopy in the meantime. (sighs) Yay for physical pain =P
Funnily enough, I've seen some journals saying things like "you know, it would be nice if people would comment with constructive criticism and stuff, instead of just 'OMG FAP FAP FAP.' The former actually helps me get better." I guess the solution is to lurk awhile and get a feel for each artist's sensibility. And yes, I've had my butt bitten for not doing that.
Ironicly, this is almost exactly the kind of art I've been looking for. Been in a Werewolf the Apocalypse game for a while and been trying to find a way to make a 'coloration' sheet to go with people's characters. I should just do something like this they can scribble over with colored pencils.
