Haven't seen the anime/played the game (which ever it is) but I was heavily inspired from this image; http://img07.deviantart.net/08c0/i/.....to-d62gm8y.png

I"m so reminded of the FF7 Remake narrator when I see this: "At last, the promise has been made..."

He stands beside her looking out at the landscape stretching out before them split by a long path that winds over the hills and towards the haze on the horizon. Towns balloon from where the path widens forming a long string of civilization that enjoyed days under the sun like the town she and her friend, whom was holding her sword were basking in. The day was warm and had drawn out the town's citizens in droves to eat, play, talk and work filling the air with a mélange of sounds. Bringing a smile to the faces of those who laid eyes upon the scene. Despite the normal routine happening behind the pair they both were aware that with a terrible threat looming over the land it could all disappear in flames if something isn't done. She was the one who wants to do something to stop the problem once and for all before it got out of control as do her friends, who had gone out ahead of her. She still stood here eyes full of a determination that not even the gods could extinguish if they dared but tempered with concern and anxiety for all of the allies that walked alongside her throughout her adventure and what would become of them once they reached their destination.
He steps closer and hands her the sword, a long crimson blade rimmed with silver that shimmered in the sun's light, telling of its strength and the battles its owner had faced before. Like a loyal friend it was there when she needed it and supported her through thick and thin. Seeing her at her best and worst but never leaving her side. She takes the weapon and slings it on her back and prepares to walk away when her companion speaks...
"Make sure you come back to us, Carni. We want to celebrate your victory, not a funeral for the greatest heroine ever. We will wait for you to return, no matter how long it takes, we will be waiting. Give that monster what it deserves for causing so much pain and destruction wherever it steps, give it one for all of us!"
His expression changes from fierce to forlorn.
"But make sure you come back in one piece so I won't have to tell the tale of a fallen hero. Okay?"
Turning to him, she gives a confident smile and a wink. A promise to return to those who love her and defeat a monstrous being that threatens to lay waste to everything in its path. Her face shows that in spite of all she's been through nothing about her has changed bringing a tear of happiness to his eyes and much needed relief. Nodding to her he heads back into town and vanishes into the crowd.
"I'll be back. Promise." She whispers to him then turning on her heel she heads down the path out of town ready to join her friends in the final steps of a grand adventure. Purple and black hair waving in the wind and the jingles of the buckles on her jacket setting the tone, her Last Journey has begun. With hope and courage flowing hot through her, she soon finds her fellow fighters and they walk into the edge of the world and into legend.
The End.
There you go, Carni, another written short for you and this picture. Do you like it? Do you not? Tell me and I'll try to work on something else if needed. Truth be told this is actually the first one I've written in a while as I've had other ideas but haven't been able to put them down. It's a relief to finally get some words out of my head.
Ah, the joys and frustrations of being an artist. I'm sure you can relate.
Anyway, Ciao for now,
Obikion.
