I can still remember the first time I played Air Fortress on NES. One of his earlier works and involvements in the gaming industry...it made me rage hard as a child but...I've grown fond of it. We'll miss you Mr. Iwata, know that all of your accomplishment to the gaming industry won't go forgotten. We're all saluting, directly to you Mr. Iwata-san.

My friend told me out of the blue that he died. I didn't believe him at first, till I looked it up. I froze for a couple seconds, because it was just so sudden. Iwata has left a great positive mark in Nintendo's history. RIP Iwata.

i've been around when the first Nintendo was created so i grew up playing that console so man hearing this was a major blow i wonder what will happen now since he has passed away to the company will it live on or will a new owner bury it into the ground like the former CEO Saruto god i hope not

I will surely miss his friendly greeting at the beginning of every Nintendo Direct.

It's still hard to believe...he did so much for Nintendo and for gamers as a whole, things won't be the same without him :( He might have passed away, but his legacy will live on. Thanks for everything, Mr. Iwata

What's gonna happen to Nintendo now?

Like most large companies I'm sure Nintendo have plans in place for who precedes who. Not to mention they have enough banked money to run without a profit for a few decades.

Will the new Star Fox still proceed as planned though?

I can't imagine why it wouldn't. The biggest threat to any new Wii U game is being moved to the rumored new console, but that's just silly IMHO. The Wii U has just started to pick up steam with Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Splatoon. Releasing a new console now would do more harm than good. Although, I could see them releasing the new Zelda game on both Wii U and a new system. Kind of like Twilight Princess. Zelda is about the biggest boost any console could get.

A rumor of a new console?

Last I heard, people are calling it the NX. Nintendo is definitely working on their next console since these things take time, but they won't release it until the Wii U has dried up or the competitors start to pull too far ahead.

And yet I don't have a Wii U yet.
