Birthday Present for Nick
I have known Nick for 20 years now. He finally gets art from me. Hard to believe what I can accomplish during an artist block. Completing this piece has helped me take steps to getting out of my lack of motivation/inspiration. I still feel its oppressiveness, but everything doesn't look like an impossible mountain, which I have to climb. I am very pleased by this one.
Artist block is a natural part of being an artist, and only time and experience can get one through it in a timely matter, and not all blocks are the same. My issue is I care too much for the work I do, that I give my self anxiety attacks over it. After a while these drag on my psyche, and exhaust me. Add some big time set back, disappointment, loss, or emotional state and “Boom” it breaks this artist's back. Leaving me feeling drained, hopeless, and uninspired; questioning all that I do, and all that I am. It is these times I seriously think abut running off and joining a clergy, or monastery.

Wow. Just, wow. Yet again I find myself in awe of your work, and wishing I had the money to commission you for anything :-D I can't believe how lifelike and alive you make everything seem. It's... it's enough to stop me in my tracks from trying to improve my art, every time I see your work (though I'm too dumb and stubborn to quit)... It's incredible, it's gorgeous, it's... it's unbelievably good. Your friend Nick is outrageously fortunate to have such a wonderful, talented and kind friend as you.
