Volunteer Exchange for Delsin256 ;) who wanted a mesoamerican based anthro/bat/myth theme. Hope you like it!
Mesoamerican history and art was one of my faaavorite subjects in college x.x the mythology, the culture, the adornments, and the structures. One of my favorites was the Mayan twins who went to the underworld for revenge and met the bat god... which was a good bit of influence on this guy. Plus I love monsters :l This was so much fun to do <3
I know there's some questions supposed to be answered, so I pulled them off of an old exchange I did ;).
1 - What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
The prompt was well written and easy c:.
2 - Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
I pulled the Aztec bat god and the Mayan and mixed them a bit. The Aztec was believed to be of life and death. It could cure sickness and take lives, while the Mayan lived in the underworld and was known for beheading (skulls everyyywhereeee). Gave him a bit more of the jaguar god's face and pelt (God of the night sky) and a lot more of an Aztec adornment with the Mayan "belt". All in all a big mix of Mesoamerican symbolism since Delsin had that stated in the prompt ;). I freaking love myths.
I used the palette as a base then started altering it. Wanted to keep to a lot of Aztec coloration.
