So some of you know I made up a species a couple years back when I was going through some bad times, it was really therapeutic, started writing a novel etc. Looking back on the designs now, they're not really that "unique" in comparison to other aquatic hybrids.
My friend
iseeyouthere who helped me develop the species heaps back then commissioned me to draw his fursona as one. They were previously "Felinqua" because they were feline-only, but I really want to get creative with other land mammals as well.
So here's the first attempt at redesigning them to be a bit more unique and recognizable. They are now called "Faelinqua", as I've now made them have two back fins that are very faerie like! And it also eliminates the "feline" part of the name.
They're going to have 3 toes, and 3 fingers with a thumb. They will now have big thick blunt claws for digging. They will now have a head fin/crest, with the first part of it being really long. They now have chin frills/fins. They now have a small stumpy sort of unicorn horn thing. They will have a rounded nose bridge to look a bit more fish-like. They will have larger, rounder eyes that are a bit further apart to also look more fish like. They have fluffier feet and forearms.
So far I think they are definitely looking a bit more like a unique species! I'll develop them further when I have the time :)
