Water color experiment with acrylic highlights. This is like... the first time I've painted since 5th grade. Really, this wasn't meant to be some shit awesome finished piece of artwork, so lala... enjoy the doodle.

I'm very glad you like it! It means a good deal coming from you.
This was... just an awesome experience for me. Hbbary has really been helping me get outside of my comfort zones. I felt trapped in my ability to really only use pencils, and experimenting like this, with both pen and paint, really just flexed my artistic muscles in a lot of great ways. For one, it was a completely new medium for me, and secondly, I didn't feel restrained by the need to make something immaculate and perfect like is pretty much expected of my pencil works... I think that loss of restraint really gave me some room to express myself in my work... Yanno, work more impressionistically and get an idea down. I have such a weakness for sketches anyways. :3
I'd like to hear that ghost legend sometime too... :3

Nice work than if this was the first time you used some different tecnique and tool!
It was a really positive thing to try new medias it suits your work as well as the pencil does!
I hope to see more this kind of works from you when you will have time for it ;3
With the ghost story I must search after I was really small and not completly clear every part of it 8D

Booo! There is naught there now. :( http://www.furaffinity.net/user/queerbagphillips/
No this is Good, the last one looked great too, but this version makes him look more finished and the feelings depicted are much more present, all that negative space left him too open and not nearly as eye catching as this one is by comparison, you made it fairly clear you were not finished yet in the last pic, but not so much as to what you were going to add, for all we knew you were going to simply add a sun with a smiley face on it <laughs), no, you managed to deliver a rather promising finish.
Good deal! And yeah, the other one was noticably unfinished and I had much bigger plans for it as you can see. If I had not intent of painting it I'm sure I'd have worked on it further... and even still, this isn't really a "finished" piece of artwork... It is mostly an exercise, yanno.
Thanks a lot for the good feedback. :>

Well, I'm glad you like it. I was really heavy on the watercolors here, but that was partially because I wanted it that way, partially because I suck, and partially because the paper was really poor for this kinda work.
Haha, Hibbary says watercolors are like a mistress that seduces you with its beauty, but she does what she wants, and all you can do is beg and plead for it to let you guide it on the paper.

Well.....in the end it came out looking good, that's what counts C: Really...for just an experiment doodle it came out pretty amazing.....most of my experiment doodles would end up in the bin, but I don't like to trash anything, even my failstuff haha...
And Hibbary's sooooooo right, so very very right hahaha...and I can't wait to see what magic and wonder she's going to do here x3

Well... haha... I wouldn't say it came out looking "good"... I even know I could do better on a hundred different levels. I dunno... I like it, but not THAT much... I was just excited to try something different.
Yeaaah... I can't wait. After she gets back from her furfag convention she's going to take a crack at it! :33

This is now even more powerful than the sketch because you created so much darkness and contrast with the white highlights. It is definately unique and something you don't see often. I love the way your brush strokes are so free and unbound, just what the ghosts want to be. :)
Yeah... this was the idea I had all along really. The other drawing was nice I suppose... but this is what I wanted.
this whole thing was really... just there to be free... I never draw in pen or paint... so I had no choice but to work a bit more instinctively and I wasn't concerned if it came out looking great or not. So, maybe that's what you see in this.
Really, I like working like this... is therapy compared to my pencil artwork.
