This was something that popped into my head shortly after my Iwata stream last weekend. Having played 'The Adventures of Lolo' again after several years reminded me of one of my most hated enemies of the game 'Rocky'.
To limit his definition to be an obstacle would pretty much define every other enemy in the game; Rather his deviousness and transcendent dickery comes from the combination of everything that can possibly ruin your day when trying to manage the general house of cards that is a Lolo puzzle.
The most obvious threat is that he is mobile, but ironically his threat is when he when he chooses to no longer remain mobile, most often when he is right next to the player and blocking his path. What is worse is that he is immune to Egg Magic, making managing his position and otherwise batting him away when he presents his inconvenient self an impossibility. You are otherwise victim to his random meandering whims and you pray to your god that he doesn't spot you in which case he will immediately throw himself into your position. All the while giving his big doofy smile that makes me think in his mind he's just trying to help you rather than get in the way... or else he's just being real smug about doing his job.
And perhaps the most galling is the fact that he does not directly harm the player, only forces them to press the Start button and slay themselves so that they may restart the work that Rocky has so deftly ruined.
... what an asshole....
(Also, YAY, first drawn art here in... almost two years?)

I agree they're usually the bane of any puzzle, but they're usually the linch-pin or part of the design of the puzzle itself (aside from the occasional Don-Medusa put in place to make sure you hussle). But Rockys are just so random in their movements, they don't even attempt to home in on you (like Skulls, Almas and Leepers) unless you end up in their line of sight.
By the way, while we're on the subject:
