"Photo-Op: Tate's Not At Comic Con" #3 (taken by Glenn)
For this third and final special 'photo-op' - taken by my brother Glenn with his smartphone - we return, one more time, to Tate's Comics in Lauderhill, Florida, where they were holding their sixth edition of "Tate's Not At Comic Con", an annual sale that coincides with (but is not connected to) the "San Diego Comic Con"!
Besides selling comic books, DVDs, Japanese manga and anime (not to mention noshes from that same country), and lots of other wares, memorabilia abounds in all formats - from posters and replicas of props from sci-fi movies, to life-size statues of familiar comic book characters.
In one of the store's new extensions (which just opened earlier in 2015) - Glenn found a silver statue of 'Iron Man' in the corner, standing (next to an image of the earlier incarnation of the classic Marvel Comics character), and just above the area where this week's newest comic titles are being displayed.
And even though Glenn isn't into the kind of stuff I'm into (including comic books, cartoons, and 'funny animals'), he still enjoyed visiting Tate's for a little while... Of course, the fact that a tattoo parlor sandwiched in between the comic emporium and its sister gaming store helped (since Glenn is into tats - and that he just got a new one for his right legs a few days ago)!
If you ever visit the 'Sunshine State', consider Tate's Comics as part of your itinerary. It's located at 4566 North University Drive, Lauderhill, FL 33351 or you visit their website at https://www.tatescomics.com
Meanwhile, I will resume posting additional 'photo-ops' I'd taken at the "Florida Supercon" (in Miami Beach) on the next "Throwback Thursday", so watch for them!
