I figure i won't give much away with the icon or say much here as I wanted to make this a bit of a surprise.

I'm gonna try to work on this at least once a week so it might not be super long but it's something I want to do.

Earth has always had different boundaries set up between humanity. Be it race, religion, color of skin, or sexual preference. Well that’s how it’s always been... until it got worse when a virus spread around. This isn’t the usual virus like where you start coughing up parts of your lungs or finding that your skin is becoming various shades of gray. No, this is a virus that you fall asleep on a train and when you wake up five minutes later covered from head to foot in fur, finding the air smells a lot smokier than you remember it as you can suddenly smell the smoker cart three carts up the train.

It was called the Anthro Virus, a rather simple thing that many scientists claimed that rather than killing or culling humanity’s numbers, it tossed humanity far up the evolutionary chain. Men and women across the world started to change from regular humans into anthro citizens. Of course the news stations across the planet went nuts over this as well as religions who called the people who had transformed many things most of which were not kind in the least.

The Anthro Virus lasted five years, people attempted to quarantine it but it didn’t appear to matter. All over the world people just changed and no one could quite explain it... and then after five years from the day that it started it just stopped. Like a switch had been thrown the new Anthros stopped appearing from regular people. Any anthro couple, or anthro human couple had anthro children, but other than that the changing of humans had stopped.

Seeing that the infection had stopped delegates were chosen from across the world to decide what to do. It should’ve been an easy choice, after all they were all humans at one point if not a little changed, of course the elder generation of yesteryear thought this was the worst thing possible. So to get things “underhand” they decided to have all “regular” humans move into the Americas while all the anthros were put into the european countries. Many of the anthro couples were attempted to be split up by the humans as they wanted a “pure” race, but many of the humans went off with the anthros out of disgust for the awful behavior of the humans.

Now it’s been sixty four years since the anthro virus and as such people are getting used to the new world. Regular humans had been sized down to a mere thirty percent of the thinking race on the planet, anthros had quickly outsized them but unlike humans for the most part the anthros weren’t in the least seeking war. Though that’s not to say that they’re all completely happy about the segregation, but for now it’s working out.

Today there are plenty of young humans and anthros alike who are curious about one another. The youth getting around internet barriers set up by the adults to get in contact with one another, learning about each other. Across the internet a new website was set up to celebrate the union of the internet culture of Anthro and Human, Anthro Century.

I’m one of the creators of the site, Jacob Brilin. I’m eighteen, the son of a ridiculously zealous preacher, and am friends with six awesome anthros that I’ve met through my website. Many more anthros have visited the site, but sadly I can’t be friends with them all. Even so, we the youth of the world are finding one another through the internet to get past the gap of water between us. Starting in one week, my human friends and I are going to be meeting with our anthro friends!
