You are. I'm playing console games, no lag at all, enjoying myself destroying hordes of enemies that require me only to have paid a one time fee to have purchased the game, rather than a monthly fee to keep playing a game that, while it is fun to play, offers only bragging rights in game, and with a storyline that, due to its very nature, is rather limited, while I see tapestries of plot laid out before me, and, in certain games, like my current Fallout 3, slaughter everyone, leaving trails of bodies behind me, merely because I can.
this is true. However, WoW is the ONLY online game i shell out moniez for, due to the connecting time I get with far away friends whom I havent seen in ages.
When I really need some quiet alone time with me and my gun, ill plug in a console game and have at the wall of games in my collection. ^_^
Lord knows, no matter how epic the base story of warcraft is (and yes, there really IS a story in there, though most miss it), itll never surpass the involved plotlines of some of my fav 1 player rpg's.

There is logic in your statement. There is also fire in my pants. I really need to put that out, as it is quite painful, though not nearly as painful as sitting down while on fire.
Also, as a personal question, which one is your fav RPG? My own happens to be Final Fantasy 6. Good plot, no real central character, just a party out to save the world, and with an ending that does change depending on who you get back in your party after the world ends, which itself was an interesting plot point.

I would have to say my fav is a tossup between Legend of Dragoon and Vandal Hearts.
On one hand you have a young man coming to grasp the history of his family spanning 11000 years in order to stop a war, and on the other hand you have a group of lovable believable characters thrown together into a mismatched party to stop...a...war...
hmm. I seem to have a few of these.
fav non rpg plot of all time: Biohazard.
Evil corporation created supervirus. Middle man between corporation and police force steals supervirus to make it his own. Middle man becomes all powerful from supervirus. You love the heroes, you love the villains (mmm...wesker...), you hate the damsels (grrr....birkin child.....), its all great. ^_^
