Okay. Ive been working slowly on sketches that I will eventually be inking, colouring, and pulling into a detailed ref sheet of Dirtiran. I have also have a full description of her, and her species that I quickly hashed together for some friends on LJ which I will post now since ive had quiet a few people express interest in how she works.
Please be aware that she is years in the designing, and ive never really written anything in full on her, so it may not be that amazing, and of course, there is allot about her workings that I just cant justify, or explain (Yay fantasy!). xD

A quickly written thing on Dirty's species, and a brief (HA) explanation on how they work ect. If your not interested in this sorta stuff I don't suggest reading XD

Dirtiran was later to be considered the first successful design of a functioning “Leaan” specie.

Her creator -
Her first intentional design, was a flawed concept of a creature called “Mou”. He was a creation built by a now unknown person, and no documentations seem to lead back further than his establishment coming to be in the far districts of the main humanoid population on this “Earth” Where he later started to release his monstrous designs into the wilds surrounding populated towns.
His creations were usually soulless things, misshapen and dead as far as thought was concerned. Designed from the flesh of a myriad of recently deceased creatures, outdated mechanics and new. He seemed to find nothing more “amusing” than creating life, that had no reason to live. After all, Mou himself knew no purpose of his creation, making him even more dangerous.
Most were hapless creatures, without soul, barely able to function, apart from feeling pain, and usually died shortly after. Although some of his later, and recent creations were vicious, uncontrollable things, and the lands around where he lived started to fall into panic, unable to reach his lair, now that the area’s surrounding were inhabited by such foul beasts.

The Leaan –

The Leaan’s species name originated from the barcode usually located on the creatures neck or Ear. Unlike most barcodes, it was discovered that the reason of these was only to mark the placement of a chip that could be scanned, a very simple but effective way for the designer to keep track of his creations. All that ever comes up when this is read is the letters “L.E.A.A.N” And past random theories, no one knows the reason for these letters, so in time, that became the name for their species.
Each code that is either dyed or tattooed to the creatures body carries a number, so tracking of the species is easy enough as far as numbers are concerned. Dirtiran was Branded as 000006 so she is believed to be the 6th attempt at the species, but is the earliest number found, so its believed the first 5 attempts died. Odd in itself, for the Leaan are the only species Mou has continued to produce the same, as if he is trying to figure out why they are not as lost in life as his other creatures are (a major flaw in his eyes no doubt!)

Studies came to find, that the reason the Leaan came to leave their creators home willingly (allot seem to have escaped) was because unlike his other creatures, they gained souls and conscious thought. No one can agree for sure if it as it happens at birth of a natural creature, or if they obtain parts of the souls from the creatures who’s flesh they are borrowing. The most fascinating part though, is the soul can be visibly seen in a containing device deep in the chest (after opening up a Leaan). Though some argue that it is not a soul, but some other matter trapped in there. But it definitely seems to be what gives them emotion, feelings and so on, because if it is removed, they just become savage and self destructive.

The other name Given to these creatures is “Clockwork Chimera”, Mainly because, their main way of staying alive is by Clockwork function. Leaan have 3 separate components to their body. The visible part being natural skin, fur and feathers ect. Under this, the skeletal structure consists of both bone and metal structure, or other stable light weight materials, almost robotic in some senses, especially in the head (most Leaan are blind, but are able to view their surroundings by other means). They do have blood and some organs, including the heart, lungs ect. The clockworks come to play in keeping the heart going. Each Chimera has a key, usually formed from metal, with a type of stone pressed into it. All of these creatures have a life span as long as the one key. They are impossible to replicate because of the type of stone, and once it wears down (or they loose, or have the key stolen) they will simply slow down, and eventually die. The key is usually tied around their neck and hidden in the mane of fur, or stored in a compartment that lifts open on the chest.

Physical features and mix –

Almost all Leaan have very large long tapered ears which are bare on the inside and spotted (any exposed skin is spotted, think Chinese crested dog. Their ears are pretty solid, and are almost always pointed directly backwards, insides facing down, or lowered.

They have extremely fluffy neck fur at the hackles and chest (hiding a prominent keel), which usually follows slightly down the back. The tails are usually at least the length or more of the animal, and while usually seem skunk or fox like in shape, are actually draconic under the fur. Though usually too heavy to lift for more than short amounts of time.
Markings can vary, but almost always will have a black tipped ear with a second or third stripe across its length.
All chimeras have their barcode visible on either the back of the ear or the neck.

The most common mix of creatures which their genetics include are (but not limited to) – Dragon, Fire salamander, Orix, Birds, Domestic dog, Fox, Feline, skunk, squirrel ect

Because of the diverse mix of genetics in the pool, leaan often “shed” things like wings or horns. When these parts grow back, they may change shape, or colour depending on the species it switches to (for example , may go from long horns to antlers, or raven wings to bright parrot ones).

Leaan are also able to stand as anthros, or as feral. When they change, their body mass stays the same, but their insides literally re-form, and rearrange (not comfortable by any means). So they usually are not very large as anthromorphic creatures (usually around 5 foot tall).

Because most Leaan will sport wings, or horns at any given time, they don’t usually wear clothing, its just too impractical. Some of them do show a certain gender, but all of them are sterile and unable to re-produce, and really are classified as an “it” if no genitalia is seen.

Dirtiran herself –
Dirty is a pretty placid creature most of the time, She is 4 foot exact in height, has blind eyes with large cataract like films covering them, making her look completely without pupils. Her known species mix is – Dragon, Salamander, Oryx, Domestic dog, Quiet a few birds, and fox.
Dirtiran Houses a part of a normal foxes soul who’s name was Lifae.
Her coat is very thick, and sometimes downy in appearance (she sometimes has random feathers grow in places in the fur like at the nape of her neck, on her elbows and back). Her tail is longer than her body when feral, and is thick and draconic beneath the fur, with two sharp spurs hidden at the tip. She is very compact in build, and shows a female appearance when anthro.
She usually sports large feathered wings, though she sheds them often, along with horns showing the same two stripe markings as her ears. She has utterly no feeling in her paws, and about the only special thing she can do is run extremely fast.
She’s the first and oldest of the Leaans, and has no real life span, but her key is starting to show wear on one side of the stone.
She has many “siblings” as far as her race is concerned, though the only one she identifies as a sibling is a bird like Leaan called “Ask” , and a demonic creature she met later called Wylde (who also placed the industrials in her ears).
