I have a slight story behind this piece.
Originally it started out as a test over a year and a half ago. However, I ran into a lot of problems where the file kept getting corrupted, and I kept having to go back to screenshots to fix parts of it. For the longest time, I lost motivation to keep working, but kept wanting to go back and work on it some more. I just really liked the concept behind it, something peaceful.
Around three/four weeks ago my new tablet arrived and I found that it was easier to work from scratch on something digital, and I started working on this image again. At first it was just some sketching to fix certain parts that were off from the first image that I now know how to fix since I've spent the last year trying to improve. Then it started to take shape, and after three/four weeks of painting and around 20 hours spent only on the new version, I'd like to think it's finished.
This has to be the longest I've worked on a single image before. Including the original, it has taken over 35 hours to complete. To me, that's an important achievement, and I'm super happy with how the final version has turned out.
However, I'm sure there are still parts that could be worked on. I may come back to this if they're pointed out for sure. Until that time though, I would like to share this piece with everyone.
The character in this piece is a character that I was hoping to debut once it was finished, but that got delayed. I hope to work on a reference for him soon, or at least a fullbody image, since his design has been on hold for a long time. Honestly, I created him at the time because I wanted to explore a character that was highly colorful, among other things!

I hope to have this at a print at a convention later in the year as well. It's being held in Manchester, NH. I'm curious just how many people are in the area.
