A "better" version
A small comic strip. Yes, there are some artists who draw the line of drawing "below average" body types and only draw one type of body shape and structure, either because that's the only shape they know how to draw, or just personal belief that "Victoria's Secret" skinny models are the definition of the perfect woman...
Everyone has their own unique body structure. Respect each and every one of them.

I was simply commenting on the "skinny girls back hurts more" Stating that it is false. I am well aware of anatomical differences in structure. I am saying unless you are female you cannot really speculate on it, and even then as you stated, some women are better suited for it, regardless of weight.
I come from a family where my mothers side is... busty would be an understatement, and all of the females said the most important thing is how you hold yerself, aka body stance, position. They say its like sitting in chair or laying in bed if ya don't do it properly, you end up with sore back/neck, regardless of yer anatomy and traits. So appropriate bra, using the body properly is all it takes to avoid discomfort... (unless ya lack some physical activity for some reason...) and just to give ya the idea of their proportions... bigger than adult humans head... each...
w... w-with the risk of sounding like a total douchebag, are we talking healthy chubby or the kind of fat that destroys your back, knees and makes you more susceptible to heart diseases by age 40 (ending up taking care of old-ish people taught me things I sometimes wish I wouldn't know).
seconded!! i find the healthy fem furs to be extra attractive, chubby or not. mind you, this was tinged slightly by my ex who was chubby, cute, sexy, was essentially the whole package...except she was controlling, manipulative and had just gotten out of a psychiatric hospital two weeks earlier...so, she was certifiably insane, and i have sworn off dating ever since.
i have used up my "big mistake token" in life, so i cant afford to stick my knotted wolfy cock in crazy.

Yeah, I know how that feels, with my old fursona and current one I'm chubby, but no one would ever draw me chubby, I was fine being drawn skinny, but one time an artist flat out drew me skinny and muscular and that's where I crossed the line. Now I always try and tell artists before commissioning them if they're okay drawing chubby furs.
I usually commission an artist because they already draw what I'm looking for. I once, in a stream, was told they didn't want to do my character (fetish gear). Then a couple minutes later said "Eh ok. Send me the money." and I was like "Whoa no thanks." I won't send money to have them draw something out of their comfort zone. Most often, the quality will suffer.
I'm more bothered by artists who have so much awesome art and then I commission a sketch or something and it's seriously much lower quality than the other sketches or whatever they have posted.

Not quite the same scenario, but I've had a similar issue with an artist. Got a picture for them and when I got the completed picture, it had a difference to it that I hadn't wanted. I asked them about it and their response was "I like that way better".
I'm all for an artist giving a picture a little bit of "their own flare", that's half the appeal of commissioning an artist, but ignoring details that have been asked for and going a different direction, without first discussing the changes with the commissioner is just poor form on the artist's part.

Okay, that's ridiculous. If the artist wasn't willing to draw YOUR character the way YOU want her drawn, he shouldn't have taken the commission and DEFINITELY shouldn't have taken your money.
What he or she did was wrong. Unethical and arrogant beyond reason.
Jeezuz. Changing someone else's character without consulting or permission. My head hurts. My heart hurts.

mind if I put on my tumblr (with credit of course) I think this is something my followers should see. As a chubby aka 200ibs girl I find this really disheartening and there already isn't enough big girls in art nowadays. this is why I like the Italian Renaissance so much because big girl were seen as the most beautiful women . they the Italian's ideal of beauty and they are pretty much the masters of art.
I sort of feel bad sometimes - I'm not the absolute best at drawing different body types. I CAN do it, and I DO, but like... when it comes to 'subtle' differences I have a hard time making them look even vaguely noticeable, if that makes sense? (EG: Someone said 'make my character slightly feminine', and so I tried, but I still felt it looked more like an average male.)
I really agree here. The only reason my female form is that way is because my male form is, because in real life I'm a skinny dude (and have been told attractive). BUT to be honest IRL I am more attracted to "pudgy" girls in looks. AND more importantly I look for a good personalty! If you knew my friends IRL you would know this is true and I look past bodies! ;3
I would be equally insulted if an artist draw my large ladies skinny, or my old Lizard Queen as young, and any of them with super large breasts. I hope I avoid artists like that.
You on the other hand always draw my ladies realistic and make their 'flaws' so beautiful :) . Thank you for continuing to do so!

That is just unacceptable. Poor kitty D:. That's one of the worst insults, too >v<.
Part of the reason I am very picky about whom I commission >v>. Sure Phrix is male, but I think it applies there too.
*hugs the floofcat* :/
Also I guess I am one of those odd ones out. I prefer girls to be either chubby <3 or toned.

-hugs the big tummy girls and gives her lots of admiration- Toothpick women are a dime a dozen, I love to hug, and I hug BIG and STRONGLY, I hug one of those thin things and I'm afraid I'd break their back. Big, plump, thick girls are the best to give hugs to, and get hugs from.
PussyCat is back Yay! but why she sad all of a sudden? you know what PussyCat, dont listen to what the artist draw you, its their own taste of sexiness but your Sexy the way your are. a thousand heart for you, PussyCat and hope to see you all cheer up also your fan will make them pay dearly.
Awww poor kitty. Also this really happened? Hope not. Hard to imagine an artist to do that to a commissioner, but also can't NOT happen by logic. Makes me a little sad too. Thankfully artists I watch and talk to seem to be comfy doing whatever the person that hires them asks within more reasonable limits (kinks really). Also its clear you are an artist that is fair and open ^.^
This is painfully familiar territory for me, sadly. I've had quite a few people surprise me with fanart in the past and while I cherish their gifts greatly (because come on, gift art, that's always nice regardless of skill level), I DO tend to notice not many of them notice the pudgy build I've given my character. I typically don't point it out out of politeness, of course, but it does make me pause at times :/
I am a big girl and Iv always drawn my fursona thin because I didnt have the skills to draw a big tummy without it looking ...well ugly as hell , everyone is beauifull , the skinny and the fat , It's all about who you are not what your belly looks like , I am glad I am starting to be able to draw my own character with my body type
An if he would'a said that ta me I would'a looked him straight in the eye ta make SURE he saw me as I slowly tore his picture up inta tiny pieces an throw it back inta his face!... Nobody is THAT good of an artist that they think they can demoralize someone like that! Especially someone who even likes their work!
I don't see the appeal. But I am also gay, so what a lady does to her body is her choice. Also, I bet they can rock some really cool armor and Super cosplay. I actually have a great deal of respect for all bodybuilding persons, it takes hard work, so kudos to anyone who is working on a goal look. It is your goal, no other person may say it is wrong or unattractive.
And muscle lady characters can probably rock cooler clothes than me. Jealous much am I.

I may not be attracted to the lady folk, but the tummy girls seem to like the same foods I do, and the same shows, and are just as geeky as me. And they can rock some awesome clothes and costumes (I know this cuz I make them, and they rock them). Also, tummy girls are some of the nicest people in my life, and are always there to help me on to my feet again. Anyone who has a tummy, you are amazing as you are and you will find those who appreciate it. Also, if you are down for sushi, write me. We can go see a movie after and then hit the book store maybe.
A very thoughtful and "Too close to the truth" cartoon. I try to be very careful concerning drawing "Critters" that mirror the personal "Fursonas" of the paying fans, and pay even closer attention to the mascots of my friends. I've been on the receiving end of some unflattering art myself, so I know how this kind of misrepresentation can hurt one's feelings. Besides, it's the sign of a "Lazy" and inattentive artist to draw someone else's characters in the same body style over and over again.
I'd be offended as shit if someone did that to me, as someone who is both a chubby girl and has a chubby fursona to reflect that.
Artists, you are offering to draw someone what THEY want not what YOU want, and people have preferences of what they'd like to draw and that's totally fine, but it wouldn't kill you to make a list of what you will and will not draw.
Ugh. That's just SO shitty and unprofessional and I'd call them out on it.

I know it's all already been said but I've hugged a lot of people...
Skinny people are a little hard to hug because they're either kinda boney or there's not much there to cuddle.
People who are skinny and have a generous chest are even harder to hug because then it seems like you're just tryna press chest to chest...
Very fat people, in my experience, tend to either not want a hug or be very tight huggers.
You're the perfect hug size, and thus the perfect cuddle size.
Thas my favourite size because hugs are awesome.

A san artist when I draw other people's characters I want to be as accurate as I possibly can. Because I don't like it when other people draw my characters anatomically inaccurate. It's fine if one cannot draw it, but to leave it out on purpose because of taste is pretty screwy.
If anything though practice is important for mastering different body types. ' - '
This image the description make great points, though I admit, I feel super bad for her :<

Dear artists who draw like this, (the skinny body), for the 2nd reason in the description, I'd like to turn your attention to a novelty song of the late 20th century called,
BABY. GOT. BACK!
*offers the cat a warm friendly hug* It's okay, kitty. You're cute and attractive as you are. Honest.

the psychopath is saying it now, only because most "rational" people think wrong, Fat isn't ugly it is a different beauty that is seldom used, but often observed. you are beautiful and a lovely mind to boot. the artist who told you that either can't draw fat or too narrow minded to see the truth of beauty.
Honestly, I think any artist has the freedom to draw or turn down whatever body type they desire. If one doesn't like fat people, they have every right to. If, however, you commission an artist to draw you in a certain way, they accept your instructions but they end up drawing you differently, now that's something they shouldn't do. Instructions, especially in a commission where I'm paying good money to be portrayed in a certain way, are made to be followed
Aw. Poor PC. I feel the same way. It's MY body damnit, I like it just the way it is.I don't have to be taller, rounder, bustier or any of that. I like my short, petite, athletically toned body with the small breasts it has. Yeah, my body isn't as soft as most of the other gymnasts. And at my age, it's not rounded as much. more saggy and out of shape. I work hard damnit, b8ut I'll never be lush, or have big boobs.(like my sister). This is who I am, draw me that way, for fucks sake.
Did this actually happen to her or was this just hypothetical? Hopefully the latter because if not, I would've asked for a refund because artists have an obligation to meet the customer's desires and take liberties only when necessary. If an artist is not comfortable with a customer desire, he/she must make that clear from the beginning & deny service, rather than gnoring a customer request & doing his/her own thing without notification nor explanation.
