
Just something I did up in the last few days on Second Life.

Thanks, I think the reason the other looks odd is there's a slight fish-eyed lense effect going on so it's squashed in some places while streched in other places.
A lot of films are shot that way to be shown on a large curved screen.
Now because SL is on a flat screen (on my computer anyway) I fixed the perportions of the ship, flattening it out from the slight curve of the 'official' released image elsewhere online.
I think being able to see it in other angles helps a lot too, looks less oddball in other more 'traditional' Star Trek views, Like the one here, slightly towards the front, but not so much that the ship looks odd by hideing the other pylon and soforth too much.
On top of that, haveing the caps unlit make the Enterprise look dead, they look much better all red, orange & yellow.
Notice - I kinda cheated here and only did a yellow inside a red one with th red one like 50% transparent, which made it more like orange then yellow, but ya' gotta work with what SL gives you, eh ?
Now, If I was only this good at buliding organic stuff on SL.
