After a serious misunderstanding over concepts of personal property and abuses of magical power, Randall Blackwell was stripped of his wizarding license, his inherited titles and perhaps most importantly his human form. Though his body isn't nearly the right size or shape to work traditional magic he still does what he can. And he surely makes the most of how charming he looks.

While his goal might seem to be to return to his human form and regain all the power that he lost, Blackwell actually quite enjoys the lack of attention that being a raccoon affords him. Dealing with the occasional poacher or overzealous city guard is a lot easier than being perpetually hunted by Athames, the guild's expertly trained mage-assassins.

For now it seems that he just enjoys the process of his craft. And he probably gets a kick out of returning the favour too, as his potions change his enemies (and friends) into wildly divergent forms of life with alarming efficiency.
