Helena grew up with her father and siblings on the family farm, living there her whole life. She was a well known painter in the local town of Twinlight, UK. One night she got into a car accident rendering her body from the neck down mangled beyond repair. She died later that night and half a year later she was dug up by Cheryl Vivi (a necromancer and owner of the carnival just North of Twinlight).

After having her head sewn onto the body of a hyena with the arms (and claws) of a mole and legs of a goat, she was brought back from the dead. Unfortunately things didn't go quite as Cheryl had hoped and Helena had her body inhabited by a small slug-like demon known as Pestilence. Now Helena is in a perpetual state of rot, leaving her body and mind sluggish, and causing her body to drip a toxic ooze that infects those that either ingest it or get it in their bloodstream.

Symptoms of this incurable disease include; internal hemorrhaging, high fever, hallucinations, and eventually death within 24 hours.

She is currently contained in an air tight glass box within the freakshow tent of Cheryl's carnival.

(As a side note I'm not sure if this could be considered gory so I'll leave it to general unless the mods tell me otherwise)
