The Mikoyan-Gourevitch 15 was a Sovietic jet fighter entered in service in 1948 and which did the Korean War and show the Sovietic superiority against the recent American F-86 Sabre and the older British Gloster Meteor. It was equipped of canons NR-23 of 23mm and of one canon NL37D of 37mm mostly used against the B-29 Superfortress.
The MIG-15bis was different of the MIG-15 by its canons of 23mm, its collimator, its horizontal empennage, its wing which was now able to carry the fighter at 900km/h at less than 500m, its pressurized fuel tanks, a best canopy, larger airbrakes, a threat detector, the possibility to get an anti-G suit and mostly by its new engine Klimov VK-1 which had a thrust of 2 700kg. The MIG-15bis was the most built variant of the legendary fighter with more than 8 000 only in USSR when it was used by 40 countries.
This one came in France via Czech Republic in 1998 and was restored by the Ailes Anciennes de Toulouse.
