During my first year in "Fur Affinity", I had posted one of two 'fan art' pieces that appeared in a comic book anthology entitled In The Zone" - where various anthroartists and myself paid tribute to Michael-Scot McMurry (or McMoo, as his closest friends called him). All proceeds from the publication were to help pay for surgery to treat the cancer that McMurry had learned about in the year 2000. (Regrettably, he still succumbed to said cancer on the following year.)
The half-page art piece I'd published in "ITZ" - "Zonie & Slick: Chili Taste-Tester" - depicted McMoo's most popular characters 'Zonie' the coyote (named after the state of Arizona, where his creator lived) and 'Slick' the fox (roughly named after the term 'city slicker') in scenario revolving around the coyote's favorite food fare, chili. You can still check it out in my 'Gallery' by going to this link: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1389887/
But it was fifteen years ago this month when I'd worked on my other contribution to the comic book: a full-page seven-panel comic strip gag, teaming up 'Zonie' with my bobcat 'fursona' in a situation set in the middle of the night, in the middle of the desert (appearing nearly in the middle of the book)! Why it took me until now to post it here will probably remain a mystery but I think you'll still enjoy it!
Other homages to Michael-Scot McMurry (and his characters that I'd posted here) appear in the following links:
