They can be tricky indeed but they are easy once gotten the hang of https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....sergalpeep.png But otherwise I really don't think you can stop people from giving the species a twist of their own with no way of enforcing the change. Artists gonna art!
Well, at least we're giving it a try. Artists gonna art as much as they want, but they gotta do it correctly. Trust me, we did the experience, and if you are to take someone's OC and mess with it, you will see how pissed they get. I don't see why they can't understand it works the other way too.
Artists drawing and making flaws is something, the lack of respect regarding proportions of something that you do not own the design of is another. People are mistaking the fact that it's an open specie to do whatever the eff you want with them. Well, no. That's not how it goes.

As a programmer, I can analogize the open species to open source software.
Open source meaning the original is available to redistribute and modify.
When it's thrown out into the open, it's going to get modified in ways you never expected.
Trying to police it once it's open to the public is a hopeless cause.
It's like when someone says, "Don't make porn of (such and such) or else," you can expect porn to follow suit -- this is one example I can say happens so often.
If you don't like it, just don't put it in the wiki, simple as that.
Realize that you're criticizing someone's personal variation of an open species, don't expect the character to just cease existence.
If it's a variant to begin with and it's never claiming to be just like the original, how can it be called "incorrect?"
You are most certainly being strict about what you think belongs on the internet, but it's already out there.

I like both the picture and the art style, but like I said to the other, I'm sorry but sergals don't come in custom tones like that. They're an overall pretty generic specie and that's not one, period.
As someone who moderates the official wikia, we're encountering issues with artists and people because they're doing what they want with the specie, spreading a wrong representation of them to others.
So if you have any respect for the ones who made that specie and/or at least like them, please don't call that a sergal, understand what I said and the fact that I'm not shitting with your art specifically.

Ok he has agreed to at least be a hybrid half sergal half asian dragon but he is still part sergal. and if you have a problem with that then honestly you guys should have enforced yourselves better from the start. Not waited until you realized there was a problem and try to correct it. As soon as you made sergals an open species you opened a new set of doors for people to do as they please honestly there is not much going back and fixing what has already been done. Thank you and have a nice day!
wow... I didn't realise I was going to get so much hate just for adding whiskers... Really sorry for not sticking to the cookie cutter preset and for trying to be an individual. If every single species is gonna be so strict then fuck it. I'll just leave the fandom. I origionally had them added as something of a joke because I thought it might look good. again, sorry for not being cookie cutter...
P.S. I still love the pic

There's no hate. Please be mature and don't play the victim by starting to say you will "leave the fandom" or so. I'm asking people to do stuff correctly and show some respect to what they like. Is that so hard to understand? It's not being strict, it's being polite towards the ones who worked hard to make such specie a reality. Fuck's sake it's not like there was no way to make a sergal unoriginal outside of that.
Actually you ARE hating on his sergal character and even the sergal racial official guide or the wiki doesn't have do's or don't's for a sergal and says "Rare
mutations can produce dramatic shifts in both fur and
eye color and individuals with such mutations are often
singled out for special attention (positive or negative)
amongst their clans. The subspecies can interbreed and
the resulting sergal tends to identify with one or the
other subspecies more (both socially and physically),
while still retaining some traits of both their parents. " But yet when a SIMPLE mutation of whiskers and a goatee suddenly the world is ending?
Sergals are an open species and as MinesaeHiromu said its like an open source program and they can and WILL be modified as people want to their personality. If you guys didn't want the rat shark hybrid to be modified then it should have stayed a closed species, which by the way is easy to translate between languages and English though its grammar and pronunciation and spelling are somewhat hard at times many Japanese folks take it as a second language.
Laude isn't playing the victim at all you literally said that his character isn't a sergal because it has a few add ons. He also has his profile hidden because of you, so yeah he has the RIGHT to 'play victim'.
Who's to say a white tiger isn't a tiger because it has white fur instead of orange fur? What if you were told that pandas aren't really bears anymore because they have black AND white fur instead of just one color? Yeah you pretty much telling laude he 'isn't' a sergal is bullying because he isn't a cookie cutter sergal and makes you sound like an asshole and temperamental child because something isn't exactly the way you want it. You shouldn't be considered a sergal because you have glasses, how about that? now you BOTH aren't considered sergals. Also mick has a good idea with a sergal count but there are so many drawn up each day i doubt that he will be able to keep track of and police all the sergals out there, which really he or you can't get mad about people being creative with his OPEN species. Again if he wants to be strict about it (which you are indeed being strict) then he should have kept it a CLOSED species. Also then create a specific do's and don'ts list so people stop making them 'wrong'.
