It’s been a few months since Drayk accepted to help out my mother Aria. By allowing himself to become a surrogate, injected with the ova of a dragoness, and then breeded by myself. Not something I expected him to do honestly but after I spoke to Drayks Mak’tah, Zaryn, I gained a bit of insight as to why he did it so selflessly.
Shurian males like Drayk and Janarr arent’ like males of other species, their behaviors towards the good will of others, especially females, isn’t learned or taught, but instinct and a natural desire to uphold the well being of their hive. Most people would have been taken aback by the request of being a Surrogate for our species. But Drayk made the decision w/o weighing the consequences it would place upon him. He didn’t stop to think that he’d be filled with someone elses life and forced to endure the strain and burden that comes with the changes of carrying eggs. Some would call that foolish, I’d call it pure. His deciding factor was seeing that Aria was in distress and that alone made him want to help her.
I only wish that I saw that kind of behavior in other races. I suppose that’s maybe why I’ve been waiting on Drayk hand and foot so much lately. Seeing that belly of his grow constantly reminds me of the sacrifice he made just to help my mother and my people. I want to make sure that every day that goes by he knows that I’m thankful to him for that. Wether it be rubbing those sore feet of his, or fetching him some Hot Cocoa and Mozzerella sticks that he loves so much. Packing on a few more pounds to help sustain those numerous eggs in his otherwise sterile womb.
He and I, and everyone else in our families knows that he is graciously being a vessel for us, and that if any of the eggs he does lay successfully hatch then the child won’t be his at all. Since it was neither his sperm nor his eggs. But never the less he accepted to make this possible for me, and no amount of foot rubs or mozzarella sticks can properly repay that selflessness. To help me become, Daddy Raijan, maybe he won’t mind if we call him Uncle Drayk.
But for now, I’m going to enjoy rubbing that big ol belly of yours while you sleep off those mozzarella sticks you gorged yourself on.

That's good; otherwise i could see there being many almost abusive relationships where the female just orders them non-stop to do questionable acts. D: -hands a platter of mozzerella sticks- your character continues to interest me on both a scientific and personal level. o:
Make it so hard for me to joke when you paint such a kind hearted scene. :L
I would say that such selfless behavior is not uncommon amongst males of other species, although to have it as a general species characteristic rather then a case by case basis is unusual.
