INTRODUCING THE KITA LANTERN FOX
(Ke-ta)
Kita Lantern Fox
Appearance: The Kita Lantern Fox’s are very long and thin in appearance. Their fur is made of a magnificent silk texture that is always very clean and upheld. There are a few different fashions that the Kita’s wear their loose fur in. Some choose to keep it down naturally where it flows. Other tend to bound it to give it a nice textured look. This all depends on their own personal preference. The Kita’s also have a very long, silky tail that gives a beautifully eerie vibe about them. On their head, they have horns which done a lantern that helps them see at night, which is where most of the activity of the Kita take place. With hooves for feet, these creatures are very nimble as well.
Habitat: A fairly reserved creature, the vulpine’s tend to spend most of their time in the forest in the Asian continent. This is where both their hunting and their dens reside. The soft glow of their lanterns can be seen to other creatures who also reside in the forest. During the night time, the lamps grow stronger as the vulpine is more active. During the daytime in which they sleep, the lamps dim so as not to disturb other creatures or attract attention on themselves. They prey on typical forestland creatures.
Personality: A very kind creature, and a gentle soul. They are very friendly creatures and are only hostile when they feel threatened. They are very kind to other species and are quite personable as well. These vulpine’s are also quite attracted to large celebrations and parades involving lamps that are used in Asian traditions. During times of celebrations are the only times that Kita’s will actually emerge from the forest. Often times, family’s will leave a lantern on their doorstep in hopes that a Kita will emerge for enough time for a lucky family to catch a glimpse of it. It is said that if one of these nimble and rare-sighted creatures is seen by the human eye, that a decade of good health and wealth will be bestowed upon the viewer and his family. Due to how nimble they are, this is a rare occasion. However, if one of these creatures is harmed or killed by a human hand, despair and plague will strike a family for generations to come.
Unique Anatomy: When a Kita Lantern fox is born, a link from their heart is directly channeled to their lantern. When their heart rate is increased, the lantern grows brighter which helps illuminate a path to their prey when they are chasing it, or a pathway in front of them should they need to run away from a predator. When their heart rate is soft such as when they are sleeping, the lantern is dim so as to hide them and not to disturb other Kita’s around them. If a lantern is physically broken open, the Kita will die. However, upon a lantern being broken open, a wave of radiation is released from it which poisons everything near the Kita, ultimately resulting in other’s death. Kita’s are the only ones that are immune from their own radiation. When a Kita dies of natural causes or, the lantern simply extinguishes and no harm comes to any around it.
