I've seen so many people interested in dance masks, and since no one seems to offer them as commissions, i thought it might be a nice idea to create a tutorial for them :3
This is the method i used for the masks i've made (Zocalo, Kabeza and the Foo Dog). It's a lot like sewing a plushie, but instead of thread-sculpting, you push and pull the fabric (or in this case, foam) from the inside.

Ahh bless you for this tutorial! I've been wanting to make one of these for myself for a really long time!
I do have a question though..
How does one go about attaching the ears? Would I just make them and sew them onto the fur? Or attach them to the mask itself with glue and sewing?

The foam should be pretty sturdy on its own if you add a dart (like the dart added to the cheek here). A dart should add support and also add definition to the ear :3
But i'm not sure how large fairly large is, lol. a bit of plastic mesh may help.
Fleece won't weigh the ear down to much, so you can test the ear's stability before you attach it. If the foam stays upright, fleece won't drag it down. If it flops over, you'll need either a dart or extra plastic.
