It wasn't as though Laodice enjoyed the prospect of being sacrificed to some horrible monster. Far from it. However, she did accept her fate as part of the unfortunate fact that Grecian princesses simply didn't have much else in the way of career choices.
Unless one wanted to wait around to be married off or enslaved by whoever inevitably conquered their land, the only other options were being eaten by monsters, transformed into monsters, or being ravished by whatever deity happened to be in a lusty mood that particular day.
At least this way there was a chance to be rescued by some hunky adventurer. Shame that Perseus was still traipsing about with that tart Andromeda...
