A classic comfort soup from
!
Yes, I posted an image of food that I made. I know, it's not exactly anthropomorphic but...uhh...there's a chicken in it! Yeah. That's it!
I actually do a lot of cooking as sort of a hobby (also because I need to eat) and Vrghr Vrghr said I should post something. It's not much but...here we are!
My roommate ReservedRodent ReservedRodent hasn't been feeling well and he really likes Hot and Sour soup when he's not feeling good. Since Panda Express apparently stopped carrying their Sweet and Sour soup (which you could spice with hot mustard and whatnot), I decided to make my own recipe.
It's not traditional by any means, but the roomie says its better than Panda Express' soup so that's awesome. :3
I'll be posting a new doodle today but I thought this would be a nice change of pace.
Ingredients:
4 Cups Chicken broth
1/2 Cup and 1 Tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups of chicken breast, cooked and shredded
2 scallions, chopped
2 Tablespoons Sriracha
2 Tablespoons Fresh ground black pepper
2 Tablespoons Cayenne pepper
Recipe:
1. Add the chicken broth to a sauce pot, cover, and heat on Medium until boiling.
2. After the broth reaches a boil, add the apple cider vinegar, chicken, Sriracha, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and scallions.
3. Cover and let soup simmer for 6 minutes on Low.
Notes:
You can add more or less spices and Sriracha to your taste, however make sure to taste it all before you add more as it may already be quite spicy.
The spice is from capsicum which is an oil. If you need to cool your mouth down, don't drink water. Water and oil don't mix well. Drink milk instead. Whole milk is best, but even ice cream will do. The idea is to get the fat in the milk to mix with the oil and help you out much better than water.
Allergy warning – please read all recipes carefully and be aware of any allergies or sensitivities that may affect your health and well-being
