I know it's a crappy pic but I wanted to show my 20 gal tank and the environment I built for Charm. She likes to hide in the back right corner and just chill most of the time. I think she's behind something in this pic

yeah, everywhere I read said not to use gravel. some people use sand but I just use a bare-bottom tank. Might get some slate tiles to put in the bottom to give her a better grip when she's walkin' around.
she seems to be doing okay. she'll eat when I feed her and the tank is cold enough. she likes to walk around the edges of the tank and hang out under the little bridge I put in there.

I'd figure it would feel more natural for them to have sand, since they're on the bottom all the time. not using it to keep it easier to clean?
no idea if you have places like this where you live, but we have a place that sells "blasting sand" that comes from construction sites, they have different grain sizes and everything, and it's actually really cheap for a 20lb bag of it, and safe to use in tanks once you rinse it well. just thought I'd share :D
do you feed her pellets?

yeah, I'm trying to keep it easier to clean, because I know I'll clean it more if it's easier.
I do feed her pellets right now, which I bought at the pet store that bred her. I want to experiment with using feeder fish or live worms at some point, but for now the pellets are working just fine.
