i am VERY impressed. i was wondering... would you be able to tell me some of the equipment you use? and maybe a little bit about what your workflow is like? for example...on this song.. did you start off with the string sample and create the bulk of the song around that? i love how organic and GOOD sounding this is. i hesitate to say "warm" (because EVERYONE SAYS THAT) but it is very warm sounding..especially because i just got finished listening to a bunch of music made with modern synths... anyways, i loved it! great song!
Thanks! As far as equipment goes, I use FL11, a bunch of M1/Korg Synths and a shitload of samples I've gathered over the years.
The strings were actually the last part of the song to be added. The song started off with the porno-sounding groove at around the first minute then faded into the strings at the very end. This whole song was originally for a radio play I was composing for (that I eventually decided to leave), so it required a lot of rearranging to make it less "score" sounding.
As for my work flow, I really just throw things together at random until something sounds good then build upon that. A lot of the samples I use hardly ever make sense. A recent tune I did was composed of samples from a parody Rn'B song mixed with an ochestral tune and some TB-303 acid riffs.
Thanks for your curiosity! It's not often I get to talk about music at length like this.

no problem! thanks for answering me! i own the m1 virtual instrument myself. your compositions are GREAT! i need to get better at incorporating samples... they really add an awesome warmth and cooed vibe to tracks. thanks again for answering my questions! i like your icon image too!
