Here's the second papercutting gift this year, this time for my nephew Andrew, who LOVES bionicles (in case you didn't know, its a Lego's product that's relatively new to us oldies: http://bionicle.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx ), so since a custom papercutting with sonic in it didn't pan out, i decided to go with his major love and try a bionicles papercutting. (I went with just the mask as i felt the whole body would be just TOO complicated to try and figure out with this being a free present and all)

This is actually called "Kanohi Ignika" or "The mask of life", and in one of its transformations has apparently been gold, so i used a metallic gold paper for the first layer and i thought a brown underlay would be the best for the shadows. The gold paper is really shiney, so i'm sorry the scanner doesn't show that!

I tried my best to stay true to the original mask picture i used (you can see it here: http://www.biosector01.com/wiki/ind.....p?title=Ignika at the top of the page), since i was making this for a huge bionicle fan who would probably notice something is missing XD.

I'm pretty proud of this one, altho i think it could be better, its pretty darn good for the time it took to produce. I may put in the lighted visor- a white piece of paper behind the lit parts- does anyone have an opinion on this? I may leave it as is...
