So a lot of my old characters have been neglected for a while and I've been getting a lot of reminders of these characters lately, almost like they are trying to tell me they want out. Soooooooooooo...Here's a cameo of Caen, Sydney, Combat and Cheri from left to right.
Caen was my first real fursona when I joined the community and ended up representing my fierce, protective and strong characteristics. He went through a few iterations, from a tall, lanky...thing, to an absolute gorilla of a werewolf. Not sure where I want to take this character next, but seeing as he is still very much a part of my identity, expect to see more of him.
Sydney was an experiment of mine, and represented my playful, borderline effeminate side. While I really miss this character, I don't ever see myself using him as my fursona again. He played a crucial part of me getting to know the community and knowing myself and what I wanted in life but it was an experimental time in my life and I've grown to the point where he no longer embodies a relevant part of me.
Combat was an anomaly for me. He is a hybrid of a bunch of things including Snow Leopard, Fox, Wolf, Cat and something else, but he didn't really mean anything to me the way most of my fursonas did. I chose the different parts based on the distinguishing features of the animals I felt embodied certain characteristics of me, but while the character represented me, I didn't connect with him. He will remain my mascot for my commission page, but I don't suppose I will ever "be" him again (which is weird, because he doesn't have a name like my other toons...).
Cheri was dreamed up as a girlfriend for Caen (the one on the far left) to be his calm, fun, sassy other half. She was meant to be the mediator when Caen got a little out of hand and started flipping tables and *ish. She is probably the least drawn main character I have and I wouldn't consider her a "fursona" on her own. She is an accessory to Caen, really, but a very important one and one that has been nagging at me for a while now.
Keep an eye out for more art of these characters and characters I've spent way too much time neglecting, despite the amount of time I've spent developing them...
