I don’t usually post my story-related stuff on here, but I’ll make an exception on this one. Since this is the first non-commissioned piece of this guy I've done he doesn't have any other stuff in my gallery, buuut I'll go ahead and link something at the bottom.


Armatician was the ruler of a distant and prosperous land. He was a good and wise king, and led through times of feast and famine, war and peace alike. He was courageous and silver-tongued, only faulted in his love for riches and a strong sense of vanity.

He was also fearful. Not of beast or man; he had beaten them all before. He didn’t fear an assassin’s blade or a usurping of power, as he had outsmarted every attempt that had been made in his long time upon the throne. What he feared was time and his age. As he saw himself growing frail he began to send his loyal knights on wayward quests for mythical treasures and remedies that were said to bring immortality. As the years rolled on he became more desperate, turning to darker, more wicked powers.
