So the red parts represent nylon rope, Each segment will have an inbuilt motor to extend / retract the rope thus creating a segmented moving effect. They will each be linked with magnetic steel ball-bearings so that it can be disassembled easily and the length can be adjusted. It will be controlled via a simple circuit that will randomly choose what moves. Depending on how I program the circuit board the intensity / speed of the movement.
