
I went to a massive "Star Party" with nearly 400 other amateur astronomers last week (closer to around 360 to 370 actually).
Using an 8 inch aperture telescope, and a digital single-lens reflex camera at the prime focus ( basically using the scope as a BIG telephoto lens, if that helps) I snapped this photo of the Lagoon Nebula.
Exposure is 30 seconds with an ISO of 3200.
** There is some guiding error, since I was not nearly as polar aligned as I'd hoped (it took a few hours to get this close to proper alignment).
However, I'm still pleased in having gotten some of the nebula.
