Liepards are sly creatures known very well around the Unova region for their beautiful and luxurious coats as well as for their often snobbish behaviors, quite commonly found in most feline Pokemon. but unlike the other cat Pokemon (Persian, Luxray, Delcatty, Pyroar, etc), Liepard is the only one of the Feliforms that reproduces through laying eggs instead of giving birth to live offspring.
Dubbed as the 'Cruel Pokemon', this name is no exaggeration.
These Pokemon are highly renowned for their gorgeous looks, but their attitudes are often quite rotten.
these are Pokemon that have been known to steal prey from other predators (those that are smaller or weaker than them), only to decide mere moments later that they don't really want it and then dispose of it instead of returning it to the one they originally stole it from.
They also have the awful habit of toying with their prey before killing it.
breaking the limbs of its prey so that it cannot escape and then grabbing a hold of its throat with its powerful jaws and dragging it along the ground as it runs around playfully. it's fun for the Liepard, but not so much for its prey. one was witnessed doing this for an entire 45 minute period before finally getting bored and then actually killing it and eating it.
Its thought that the only time these Pokemon aren't so cruel is when they are with their young.
mother Liepards will protect their offspring with their lives, letting absolutely nothing harm them.
these mothers will also spoil their kittens rotten, providing them with more food than they could ever eat and constantly showering them with affection. but once they are old enough to fend for themselves, she will go back to her old ways and do everything she can to make their lives an absolute living hell until they leave her.
There have been cases in which mothers have killed offspring that refuse to leave her, as well as offspring that have killed their mothers in order to take her territories for their own.
Other quick facts about Liepards
- Liepards cannot purr
- They are easily one of the most difficult Dark-type Pokemon to both train and befriend.
but it is said that once you do befriend one, you will have a loyal ally for life.
- They are the only Feliform Pokemon to have 2 whole sets of whiskers.
the first set (the thick yellow ones) to be used to sense vibrations in the air around them to help them find prey.
and the second set (the thin white ones) to help them feel around for other objects around them to prevent them from bumping into them.
- They are also the only Feliforms to have non-retractable claws.
- It's often thought that 1 out of every 10 Liepard is actually nice and kind hearted...
well, that is the rumor, it's not actually known if that's really true or not.
- Liepard in captivity tend to be pretty talkative, and the typical 'call' or 'cry' of a Liepard sounds very much like this; www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0kO_e…
I know that this thing was supposed to be based off of a Leopard, but lemme be honest, until you see one in the anime, the actual official artwork of it looks pretty damn cheetah-ish...so I pretty much made it a Cheetah-pard...
Eh, I like the purple Cheetah-pard thingie.
it's frail as shit, but I don't care, I still like it. :)
