Couple of rocks I took with me from my trip to Norway. Nothing very fancy, mostly granite, but I love the shapes, colors and textures so much..
Plus this is far better than the cheezy souvenirs you can buy. xP

Much better. I grabbed a beach stone when I was in the US.

Its actually illegal to take rocks from Australian national parks though. So if you're ever here pick one from somewhere unprotected.

It's a protection measure. They figure if everyone did that then there would literally be nothing left of a site (and let's be honest, they're probably right!). It's mostly about keeping people from disturbing habitats and the like. There are similar measures for many sites in the U.S.

Even tiny rocks as small as a little bug? to me thats a bit over the top though, but yeah..I dont know what kind of rocks we're talking about here xD

Its mostly to stop people taking larger rocks for landscaping but I wouldn't want to get caught by a ranger.

It's true for many North American parks too, to protect things like fossils, fulgurites, arrowheads and other native american artifacts, etc.

Definitely better than mass produced souvenirs!

From my own visit to New Zealand and Australia I brought 3 rocks and 2 sea shells. All of them have small story where I picked them up and how I got there :)

What a fun set of rocks. A friend of mine also once told me that a good meal is far more memorable than anything you can buy on a trip, so I hope you had a memorable one of those too! :)

Those are lichens and are "easy" to grow, given light similar to where they were growing.

Just the one on the right of a "pink square", is the reddish texture made of some kind of Cristal?

Actually looks a lot like quartz with iron-oxide in it.

All the "white" ish stone are quartz crystals. Except the one on the far right, that looks a bit more like marble.

Wooo! I collect rocks from all places I visit! On my desk right now I have two rocks, one i broke off an ice block from Nigardsbreen glacier in Norway, and the second, rectangular one I found in Abisko, Sweden.

I wonder what those milky ones are made of, I have a couple of them too. Most of the time I found them in between bigger stones, in vein-like structures.
