taking my efforts to designing a functional plane to the extreme, or at least to the point where it is convincing enough that a real aviation engineer may show interest.
First step, hollowing out the airframe and separating it into portions.
The components I need to add are as follows:
Avionic, Powerplant, Hydraulics, Cockpit intruments, Weapons systems, electrical systems, Fuel tanks, Communications and landing gears.

I know what you mean. ^^
I hate doing all the math though it's not THAT compicated after all. But I prefer doing more practical work, too.
You got some very nice ideas, and they look just the way I like it: PLAUSIBLE! It will most likely not work if you actually start doing the math (I could easily tell you where the probs are without even adding two numbers), but making it look like it could work is so much better than most of the crap you see in the sci-fi/fantasy genre.
