So now we have two little mice. Meet Jerry, the mouse without balls - literally! He comes from the local animal shelter. His life wasn't easy so far. He was discovered in a trash bin. Now he's very scared. To understand why and what happened, you need to know that intact male mice are very aggressive and you mustn't keep them together, else they will kill each other.
At the shelter, the people there made exactly this mistake, and Jerry was the one who suffered a lot. You can still see battle scars on his back, and his ears are ripped. The shelter workers recognized their mistake and neutered both of them, but still Tom and Jerry couldn't stand each other.
As my boyfriend and me visited the animal shelter, Tom wasn't there anymore, and Jerry was left inside a dirty tank, nobody seemed to take really care of him. No way we could leave him behind.
So now he's home, looks and smells better, but he's not very fond of being touched. If you do so, he starts to shake himself really fast and kicks with his hind legs. Jerry needs a lot of our patience and love, we try to introduce him to Snowball, our other mouse (pic inside my gallery), but so far, no success. He's just too shy and scared.
Hope he'll change for the better eventually.

Really hope that they accept each other. What kind of animal shelter could keep rodents in dirty tanks?
But yeah, the new home and clean cage is better than bad environment. Lucky mice! I hope he accepts Snowball too, I don't know how it "should" go with mice when the male is neurered and he lives with a female.
I guess, does the PEW color make him less wanted in people's minds? Have no idea why anyone could left a mouse (or a rat, both species have the same problem) to be homeless only "because it looks scary/evil". Although a white rodent with red eyes is nothing scary.

Hope so too. They're so dfferent, like a clash of day and night. It's the dusk and dawn which is missing... And now my bf wants to get even more mice haha XD
A neutered male is supposed to work just fine with several females, a harem so to speak. But they all have different personalities, and so far, it's not working. He's just too scared.
Yeah, it sadly does. Red eyes are scary in many people's minds, but I think they're like red currants and I love those :D Even more when the light shines through them, they look like tiny gems, rubies.

Aw, more mice... It's not bad idea for me, but I have no idea how you can do with the moment then.
Yep. Some people have no even idea how different personalities that small animals can have.
I still hope that it is same as we had with rats ages ago - one lost his cagemate and got depressed, but two new rats hepled him to get happier although he was quite a recluse. It was enough to him that he lived in same cage with them, ahtough he wasn't the best friend with them.
But yeah, all males aren't still 'meant' to make a family because of their personality. It can be sad. Now you just need to give him time and make nice things with him, to show him that humans aren't going to eat him. :) He surely is wondered of the moment, what the toe just happened at his life.
Currant is right word! They look similar to that. I also like the pupils showing in the eye, although people seem to ignore them very often. It can make the mouse (and rat, as they have similar pigmenting in red eyes) to look yet more evil, but for me it looks just awesome.
And, yeah, rats and mice are gems as themselves. :3 Not a wonder why so many people have fallen in love with both.
