Every fanart of The Raccoons I have done until now featured a major character, so I decided to draw some of my favourite minor characters from the show instead for a change. These three all appear in the episode 'Life In The Fast Lane', from Season Three.

The episode introduces Bix Badger, better known as "Bix Wheelie" (middle), a motocross champion who is depicted as tough, rebellious and cool, at least that is the impression that Bert Raccoon gets. He offers to let Bert hang out with him and his friends and fellow petrolheads Toof (a beaver), and Wendo (who I presume is a weasel).

As the episode progresses however, Bix is in fact domineering, reckless and dishonest. He causes damage to Cyril Sneer's boat and puts the blame on Cedric, then lets Bert ride Toof's bike (possibly knowing that the brakes don't work), sending Bert out of control until the bike runs out of petrol.

By contrast, Toof is excitable and Wendo is sarcastic and difficult to impress. They both look up to Bix, who seemingly looks after them, but unlike Bix they make some progression as the episode goes on; they initially come across as simple cronies but as the episode goes on they are revealed to be warmer and unlike Bix, worry about Bert's safety when Bix sends Bert off on a bike with no brakes.

The climatic scene in this episode is (I think) among the best and moving in the series. When Bix accidentally sets fire to Cyril Sneer's garage (by throwing a discarded cigar onto spilt petrol) and traps Wendo inside, he decides he would rather let her burn instead of get caught despite Toof's pleas. He doesn't get far though, and is confronted and overwhelmed by the Sneers' dog Snag. Cedric and Bert bravely rescue Wendo and put out the fire, and when Cyril shows up Bix initially accuses Bert of starting the fire, but after Wendo and Toof (who now feel betrayed and hurt by Bix) tell Cyril of what Bix had done earlier, he eventually confesses to starting the fire among the other bad things he has done.

These characters never appear in any other episode, except for Toof, who makes a very brief cameo in the next one, 'Monster Mania'. I would love to have seen them appear in a future episode (especially Toof and Wendo), but I guess the writers had other ideas. Hope you enjoy :)
