Looks like she's has entered "big" mode!
"Big Mode" by the way is when your character collects enough food items, and your character becomes big and fat. Being "big" has it's disadvantages, your character moves and jumps really slow. But the big advantage is it powers up your current weapon, especially if you have the Heave Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher, or the Laser Gun.
"Big Mode" appears in Metal Slug 2 to 6. Since I've never played the first Metal Slug game, I don't know if "Big Mode" appears there.
