So as some of you may know I did an externship at a veterinary clinic and my first week and a half of 6 weeks I was receptionist.. Loved being able to do things that most of the staff couldn't. X3
I am now a Certified Veterinary assistant and am going back to school to become a Veterinary Technician in November.

I've been really interested in being a Veterinary Technician. Mostly because I want to work with animals, but I don't think I can handle doing the actual surgeries and things. :c
However, I've heard that the pay is also significantly less for the technicians. I'm worried that it might not be enough money. Should I be worried, or should I go for it? :o

The pay is anywhere from $12-$20 an hour. So the pay is good.
Also you do not do any of the actual cutting into an animal. You draw medication, restrain the animal, release anal glands, give baths, trim nails, give injections, take x-rays, monitor anesthesia, use ultra sound, run all labratory things such as Uranalysis/fecal floats or smears/ ear swabs and blood draws, you can also help in surgery if the doctor asks you to scrub in but you can ask not to be involved in surgeries.
If you like working with animals I'd say go for it. You can also specialize in things as well once a CVT. Like animal behavior, or emergency care, or wildlife, or equines. :3 Note me if you ever have questions about it.

^_^ Oh it's not a problem. And vet clinics are usually always hiring for Vet assistants or Vet techs.. and if you're a certified tech they will almost definitely hire you. there is a big test you have to take to be certified.
But yeah feel free any time to note me and ask if you ever have questions about it. :)
