You nailed this position nicely, and would you look at that! Background! The focus on the character is still there, which is good, while the background plays an essential role and draws as much attention as needed. I love this piece!

It took me forever to get the pose right, but it sure paid off in the end.

I wanted to do a background, but still have the character as the main focus.

I have to to say, this is a very good piece of work and a first time for me seeing a full background with a painted character. The hair must have been a nightmare to do, especially with a arm tangled in the mix!

Better rest that artist's wrist now. 12 hours is no easy feat!

That would be possible since their regions are more or less next to each other!

I've done a couple of full painted backgrounds before, though this is the most recent! Hair is one of my favourite things to paint actually, hahah!
