I’ve been working on this for…. well 2 years, but with looooong hiatuses in between. Finally got him done in time for Dragon*con next month. I put him on to practice applying the prosthetics and getting used to the feel of the costume.

Well all artists and writers gets their own take on the characters... which can be both awesome and horrible.
Beast has certainly been all over the map from Big dude to hairy blue monster man to fluffy cat person.
This was my favorite movie design.... and any costume I can wear my glasses for makes me very happy BD

Made everything myself except the metal buckles on the flight suit.
I wanted to give prosthetics a try. Although I learned lots from the experience, it was also extremely frustrating and *cough*EXPENSIVE*cough*. The face was easy, but the feet and especially the hands were REALLY hard. Don't know if I will do any more prosthetics in the future, but it's always nice to have a new skill in the toolbelt
Haha, half the reason I picked this Beast was I liked his glasses :D

The feet and the hands turned out really well, so despite how hard it was to make they are nothing to be ashamed about!
One other question: will the hair on the forehead be filled in somewhat, or even done as a one piece hair piece? I figure there is more refining of that between now and Dragoncon. And no offense meant; I have dabbled in individual hair laying all of one time, and it was a gruesome result. Very tricky to do well.

I agree. This was literally my first time putting everything on, so even I didn't know how it looked until I took photos.
I've taken notes on what needs to be fixed before the big con: tighten up the belt, punch more forehead hair, add some more hair to the sides of the face.

It will all come together in time, I'm sure it'll be just fine! I know that after my own hair work fiasco, I intend on pre-applying the hair to a latex or cloth backing that is easy to apply and remove multiple times. That would work great on foreheads and temples, not so sure about around the mouth for beards and moustaches. Good luck!
Once you have the prosthetics they are easy to apply and remove. I used Skin Tite Silicone adhesive(http://www.smooth-on.com/Silicone-R.....193/index.html) to apply the prosthetic; mix, smear all over your face, then press the prosthetic on. You have to hold it for 5 to 10 minutes before it's fully adhered.
I wore it for several hours (umm...5 hours I think?), the area on the lower lip came lose after a few hours, but that was mostly due to a mixture of sweat (Atlanta is incredibly hot and humid in Late august) and constant strain from talking. But, as long as I kept a growly face, you couldn't tell the lip had come loose.
