Oh and I came to think of something yesterday night in regards to how we both became what we are.
You were turned into a raven by one that came during a thunderstorm, since there's quite a few legends of them as birds harnessing the lightning and such, and it appeared to have been a sort of messenger for a godly being that granted you that form.
As for me, I found a small statue that looked like a Night Fury perched on a rock with some runes inscribed at the bottom, while studying it in my apartment, the runes suddenly light up as I touch them and I get hit in the chest with a bolt of energy that knocks me out.
When I wake up, I have become an anthro and buff Night Fury.

That's a really great idea, better than anything I would come up with
