On the very edge of an island, there is a village called Cosetero village that is inhabited by the combined relationship of Otters and canines. It was once a pure otter village in previous times, but time had a way of changing the rules of life. Now, both otters, wolves, dogs and sometimes foxes all live in peace and harmony. When an Otter Alpha meets the end of his life, a small, yet difficult task is bestowed upon the chosen otters to see who is worthy of leading the people of Cosetero village. The task requires the otters to travel deep into the forest beyond their home village and must live alone for 3 weeks and hunt only fish from the river they receive their waters from (you really think otters can drink sea salt water?). Another thing about this task; the otters can never return home until they have caught enough fish for the village, or to perform their ancestral task: catch the RARE Drago-carp fish without spearing it. Wukyren was always seen as "the one to fail" and was never given any support from his people, until on one faithful day, he caught the rare fish himself. He has proven himself to be a true leader of Cosetero village. His intentions was to catch normal blue fish for his people, yet, he did what people consider to be impossible. But it goes to show, nothing is ever truly impossible.
This piece was completely experimental and mainly an anatomy practice. I actually liked the final results of it. This was a VERY difficult piece to handle but I am VERY pleased with it in the end. I kinda got a little lazy with the trees but I managed to make it look good. Otters are one of my favorite animals to draw (next to wolves) so I decided to make something otter related.
