I actually didn't really like Amelia's design (liked her character though) in the source film, it was a bit wide and strangely proportioned to me, as wasn't very sold on her as a whole. That being said though; I'm really proud of how she turned out in my own style; it was a LOT of fun actually!

I never like the movie much.
On one side it was too close on the original story, on the other too far away.
Yes, I reaoize how strange this sounds and it would take me a long time to explain everything.
Captain Amelia is one of the best wways to explain it shortly I think. They build her up as this cool and extremely competent captain, and while the original captain was competent, he was not nearly as cool as she was. And then she gets hurt like the captain in the original and is essentially out of the story. Or to put it another way she is build up like a main character only to be relegated to walk-on status.
And that's just one of the problems I have with this movie.

This is , while I loved the character's personality in the movie ,her design always bothered me for some reason.(I think it was just the way she was an anthro-cat WITHOUT fur or at least it looked like she didn't have any fur) But the way you drew her here doesn't bother me at all quite the opposite!
