Kaigo Vallington is a 24-year-old shape-shifter who resides in the Underworld, where his species is known as the black dogs. More specifically, he is a member of a rare mutation called a Fell, distinctive by their lighter coloration and assorted health issues, such as his milky, sightless eye. Fells are discouraged from breeding in their species' society and are often discriminated against, resulting in them becoming clever and deceitful in order to survive. Kaigo is no exception, having used his success in one of the Overlord's competitions to rise to power as royal adviser. He is a cruel and abusive man by nature, with nothing but revenge on his mind.
