Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.

In all honesty, these guys probably don't call themselves Dark Ones - they seem the sort that have a name all their own, unpronounceable to our tongues and unintelligible to our ears. However, their rabid loathing for all things that dwell upon the surface world of light above them, and creative lengths they go to to harm, torture and torment those who hail from such areas, has earned them the name.

For this block of subterranean/dungeon-dwelling monsters, I wanted at least one intelligent race of malevolent "underdark-like" creatures, the kind of thing you might spot scuttling through the shadows or slipping from holes in the ceiling, the kind of race you expect as the culprit as your party members slowly go missing one by one the further you venture into the dark...
