I would get the plans just for the fun of it... I have on the drawing board drawing for a larger version of Wayne Ison's PDQ 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDQ_A.....Products_PDQ-2 I will be incorporating a number of changes one of them will be more wing area with longer wings, conventional landing gear so you could put float on it. Setting it up for heavier pilots over all.
I've got about 50 hours in a 415-C, myself. 'Course, that was 30 years ago. Nice ship, flew well, very sturdy (the AAF used them for JATO testing), glide ratio of a well thrown brick...

hehe there were two of them based at Blaine for a number of years when I was in my teens. They had their own quarks when it came to flying them... they were designed to be a safer aircraft but it's questionable if what they did really make the craft safer. You couldn't sideslip the plane when landing if you needed to get in short was one of the quarks it had.
