Sketch commission for
Pose created by and referenced from Kate-fox on DA!
Edit 8/5/17:
ok so in understanding more about art and rights and shit this image has haunted me (': No one's called me out on it or anything, but honestly im a big fucking baby and knowing that what I did was wrong fucks me up lmfao so I just wanted to say that I did give credit, but it was also wrong of me to use a reference from another artist and draw it basically line for line (or as close as I possibly could lmao) for a commission when upon actually looking into sourcing poses and finding the artist (kate-fox is hella popular, unbeknownst to me at the time of using the poses because i was a SCRUB) the artist had requested in the description that that not be done with their poses for commissions specifically, but anything else was okay. I'm honestly sorry for having started commissions without even properly understanding how to go about running a personal art business with respect and courteousness to commissioners and other artists alike. This explanation is the reason as to why this image will now be in scraps. If ever requested I will take it down, but honestly I just didn't want to hide my mistakes as I've grown so much from 2 years ago as a freelance artist and this is a reminder to that at least! I am also sorry to the commissioner for not having known better at the time to look into references and who they're drawn by and that person's requests, pose reference or otherwise.
However!! What I will say is that it's excellent practice to try and copy a pose as best you can when practicing anatomy (heck or even to vary what you want!). Like, gosh kate-fox's stuff is GREAT for pose studying!! I've still got a lot to work on, but doing that and focusing on certain areas really helped me improve and I still constantly find myself improving. But It's also good to practice your own ideas and see what you can do which is something I'm still very much improving on. I need to work on more dynamic shit lmao I'm just glad that in growing as an artist I know better than to just steal distinct poses (':
the whole thing still came out pretty damn good tho fuc k ya :'D I've always been super proud of this anatomy lol
