I for one am glad you resubmitted. Like, four times I reloaded the front page, *needing* to view cartoon animals, *demanding* to view cartoon animals. Then I finally go to view cartoon animals and everything was all right. I would have missed this post if you hadn't persevered! So thanks for sharing. :)
I got a chuckle out of "because you look kind of like a turtle" and "are you hiding in your shell".

Not to get too serious about mutant turtles, but I was thinking about how the problem children, like Raphael, are more likely to go to drugs but should the 'good' kid wind up in trouble he'd probably go right under the radar. Donatello's one of those smart people who could be drowning in something but is too smart for his own good and so can keep it a secret. It isn't really *funny* unless you're one of those people and you can be like: Ha ha ha hhrrnnnnnngggg >xC

Agh, I think you nailed it (I mean, not necessarily that Don would tragically whatever--I mean, thankfully the turtles are constantly having things happen that accidentally reveal secret things about themselves, if they even try to hide stuff in the communal sewer). But that is just so very accurate what you said. And I think I know what you mean, if something is really "true" it can be funny, but wow, that just made me so sad. I guess now I'll have to worry about Donatello. Maybe that's why characters like Raphael make me more comfortable on the surface.

Well I don't know much about TMNT or follow any of the series really, so I can't comment on their storytelling or constant secret-revealing, except that it makes for more drama in general. From what I read in synopses, sometimes Raphael is a fucking terrifying psychopath and I nope away from that hardcore. I like him more toned down.

I'm in a weird place tonight emotionally. I'm apparently very suggestible, but in a good way in this case, because I find this sentence to actually take a load off my mind. :)

That's good! I didn't mean to worry you. He's not going to go spiraling into a helpless pit of addiction. It was just a one-off thing meant to be kind of shocking and probably won't come up again.

To be entirely honest, I am not either! Like, I watched the cartoon when I was in the single digits and forgot about it. I know nothing about the comic or any future series. People on DA keep trying to talk to me about TMNT and I'm like: I'm going to have to stop you right there....

Lucky for me my fiance lets me pick, my previous bf didn't let me "preen" and to me its oddly bonding and comforting. I also have a friend that is always covered in blackheads and whiteheads and other fun things (he's a clean person, he just has oily skin, meds, and huge pores) I pretty much become a disgusting person with all the extraction tools are care when I visit. I can barely press his nose and grubs come out.
I just cannot pick scabs on my mister, no blood contact, but I can farm blackheads which is rare, and scratch for back craters. He picks my hairs on my chest or belly and can pluck them with two fingers, I usually have to monkey arm shoo him away because it smarts a bit. He gets fussy if he sees ingrowns on me then gets grossed out when I fish it out.
There are some videos that make me grossed out and yet I still watch them too.

I have this rough patch on one of my elbows (it's only on one, oddly) that I always find myself picking at, (but then my mom has the same thing in the same spot, and also picks at it, so maybe I learned it from her) and also at the pimples that show up every now and then on my chin. I also have "whiskers" on both sides of my chin that I will try to pluck, and also the very slight unibrow that I have (You wouldn't notice it looking at me, but there's a few dark hairs over the bridge of my nose. They drive me crazy). Also, if I have a scab somewhere, or an old bug bite.
One year, back in high school, when I was totally stressed out about learning how to drive...I went and plucked out one entire eyebrow. XD; I had to use eyeliner until it grew back.

Strange thing is, I bleed really well, especially on my legs- like I get a small scratch on my leg and I go "Meh, doesn't hurt that much, I'll fix it up when I'm done with what I'm doing." but half a minute later my leg feels cool and I look down to see the blood has nearly reached my ankle and is drying into a long thin strip! It was really crazy when we had kittens in our bathroom and I was washing some parts in the tub- I was kneeling and they kept running across the backs of my lower legs, tiny razor-sharp claws out of course! When my mom came in she gasped and said "Oh honey, your legs!" "I know." I replied "I just want to finish rinsing these parts first." Meanwhile the kittens tracked my blood across the floor... XD It's strange, my own blood doesn't bother me at all!
