Those who remember me... WAY back on DeviantART, from 2006 to 2010, remember THIS GUY. Darius. My first ever fursona, and also incidentally the one I kept for the longest time, haha.

I felt nostalgic these last few days (probably finding the art my 15 years-old self was doing has to do with it) and I thought "How could my very old character look like with my current art style?" And it didn't take much more to actually sketch him under 15 minutes, ink him in 10 minutes and colour him all in approximately 1 hour.

I also updated his look, for I wanna draw him more often. I know the pic isn't perfect, it was more of a personal satisfaction to blow the dust off an old character I used to cherish a lot... and that deserved more love. Anyway, for the updates... his face is a lot rounder... because I feel that the "Roar! I'm a dragon! Fear me!" cliche is something that I wanna avoid. Hence the fur, too. His plates (light blue areas) would also feel like velvet, so Darius is a fluffy dragon now. Referring to that cliche, I'd imagine him going: "Roar, imma dragon, scary n shit... urgh. Whatever, screw it. Hug me please."

He's also a couch potato. He is often drowsy. He is lazy, and looking for the phone to order some take-out is his way to "hunt for food".

A lot taller than he was, too! From 5'06", he is now at 6'04"! We don't see it here, but I plan on giving him a bean-shaped body, digitigrade legs and a bit of a pot belly. Because mean dragons need that, right?!

Anyway, hope you enjoy it. I really did enjoy drawing him and I cannot stop sketching him with Cosmo and company now. I guess his updates now make him blend in well with the fuzzballs I already created!
